A huge % of Gun owners support some common sense gun safety. The good guys should have guns and they should have no problem being proud owners. Thus through ownership comes responsibility. Guns used in crimes become an ownership issue and the transfer of ownership and liability regarding transfer.
Proud Americans secure in their responsible guns ownership can dare the Federal government to come and "take their guns." Despite registration, confiscation is unconstitutional and the good guys with guns know this truth.
On October 6, 2015, I awoke to the news an 11 year old in Texas killed an 8 year old because she would not let him play with her puppy.
And perhaps the Oregon shooter obtained guns legally, but the fact, actions prove insanity and thus he should not have had gun(s.)
