Domestic Violence Awareness shares the same month as Breast Cancer Awareness. Both topics are very important and one shouldn't over shadow the other but this is happening. Breast Cancer Awareness is being heavily marketed with the “Pink” campaign in the media, schools, sports, etc. Such mass marketing is taking the light from the positive efforts that have been put forth for Domestic Violence Awareness.
Domestic Violence is a serious subject. Change the month so that it no longer has to compete with Breast Cancer Awareness. It's hard to understand why it has to share time with another matter that is seemingly "more important" in the media's eyes. In order for a message to be fully received, there must be no other conflicts or distractions to take away from the delivery of it.
