The drinking age was changed to 21 from the previous age of 18 many years ago. I believe that this violates both the 21st amendment to the constitution and our civil rights as legal adults. Upon reaching the age of eighteen, you will now be charged as an adult in all legal disputes, you can join the United States Military, you can be drafted if a draft is called, you are now seen as being mentally mature enough to make your own legal decisions, and you are seen as intelligent enough to vote for public officers. If in the eyes of the government see these people between 18 and 21 as equal in every other way, why can we be denied the right to consume alcoholic beverages. I believe this is age discrimination and is a violation of our civil liberties. This should be addressed immediately.
