A study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2015) found that 90% of the alcohol consumed by underage drinkers is consumed in the form of binge drinking. The problem is wide spread in America but there are some actions that could help to reduce the damage that alcohol does on underage drinkers. It would be easy to just say education would help but there is already alcohol education implemented in many schools’ curriculum and the rate of frequent binge drinkers was still on the rise with regards to college students according to a Harvard study. The best way to decrease the amount of binge drinking that college students participate in would be to lower the drinking age from 21 to 18 in America for all bars and restaurants.
