Tuesday as the day of elections was created in the 19th century and does not reflect the interests of the modern United States. Making election day on a Saturday will give more people a bigger window to vote (rather than before or after work), meaning shorter lines. Making voting as simple as possible for registered voters is an easy goal for either party to accomplish. Additionally, making election day a Federal Holiday will further demonstrate the U.S.'s commitment to democracy.
