The gridlock in Washington has gone on long enough. The party lines are too deeply divided and too many people are forced to choose a side, even if they don't completely agree with either of them. It is time to change the election system to allow more political parties and more choice for American voters.
All voting systems should be changed to the 'alternative vote' where the voters rank the candidates from first to last. Once the votes are tallied, the votes from the last place person get moved to their second choice and this will repeat until a candidate gets a majority. This will reduce the 'spoiler effect' of the current voting system, allowing more parties.
Its time to give power back to the voters, and allow them to side with their beliefs, rather than one of the available teams.
