Change The Electoral College So That Our Votes Actually Count

Created by D.G. on November 12, 2012

Currently the turn out in elections is horrendous. One of the main causes of this is that people do not feel that their vote truly counts. In this past election for instance 2 states had not finished voting by the time the winner had been declared. The best way to achieve this would be to divide states evenly into Federal Voting Districts equaling the amount of electoral votes a state has. They should be divided into straight lines or follow natural barriers (such as water, mountains or islands) and could only be changed in the event that the state has a larger or smaller population or there is a change in the natural boundaries. These districts would then submit their electoral vote to the majority’s candidate. This would divide up state electoral votes & give western states more of a say
