Solar and wind energy systems do not require further inputs of fossil fuels, do not have the same potential for huge ecological disasters, and provide new, clean jobs for thousands of American workers. Cleaner air and water, with less geopolitical impact from foreign energy sources. Also, in times of drought, neither of these systems require the huge amounts of water that steam turbines systems, i.e. coal, natural gas, or nuclear. When water gets short, will we have to decide, "water to drink or water for power plants"?
