The ERISA law prohibits state laws from protecting their citizens. If you receive insurance from your employer you can not sue for punitive damages due to the insurance company's bad faith and breach of contract. These rights are afforded to citizens by their perspective states. Yet the federal ERISA law takes away those rights. Many people are left homeless and lose their possessions due to the ERISA law. The insurance companies have nothing to lose because of this law. Worse case scenario the insurance company will have to pay benefits that you were already due. Out of those back payments you will have to pay attorney fees so you lose needed money in the process. This is wrong!!! Please sign this petition so this law can be changed.
