change Exempt status under the Fair Labor Standards Act to apply exclusively to employees earning above $75,000.00/yr.

Created by S.P. on December 28, 2014

Exempt employment status, which exempts employees from the protections of the Fair Labor Standards Act, is being applied to low paying jobs. This denies many workers overtime pay for routinely worked hours beyond 40 hours/week and denies those workers the protections of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Limiting exempt status to higher paying jobs - above $75,000/yr, would benefit many workers and generate more income for employees with resulting improvement in the economy.
