Student loan debt is ravaging our economy. Students with little/no economic savvy and who buy into the American Dream that education will enhance their lives are signing contracts that are leaving them in so much debt the boost in income is completely gobbled up by student loan payments for all of their working lives!
Low income students are worse off, falling prey to predatory ads and promises from technical colleges who promise the sun, moon and stars but rarely deliver.
If a business can ravage the economy, community, pensions, etc then just file bankruptcy to escape financial responsibility, why not students who did not have a financial team advising them on their choices?
Our current bankruptcy laws preventing the dissolution of student loan debts are oppressive.
