I'm 23 Years old today and for the last 5 years I've been trying so hard to get into college and the only reason I haven't been able to get to make that step is because I don't have the money to pay for it. I apply for the fafsa, but the application asked for parents information. Why does a 23 years future financially status depend on their parents financially status? Are they going to help me pay for the school? No. The federal government should consider the poor low income Americans paying for college as it stands, that they themselves are paying for it. I'm calling on the government to change the set up of the fafsa and allow people over the age of 20 years old to exclude their parents information on the fafsa.
