This petition calls on the US Government to eliminate the prohibition against lawful gun owners with Concealed Carry Permits to leave their legally owned firearms stored in their vehicles while they retrieve their mail from their post office box. At present, it is illegal to have a firearm in your automobile on Post Office Property. This is a direct violation of the 2nd amendment as it infringes on a citizen's right to protect themselves while in transit to the post office.
