We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Change the federal holiday, Columbus Day, to National Indigenous People's Day.

Created by A.G. on October 10, 2016

Columbus is a fraud! He tortured, murdered and enslaved millions of native people. Regardless of the significance of Columbus' unwitting discovery of the “New World”, Indigenous People were already living on the land he found; their ancestors were the true discoverers of the New World. It is time for us to commemorate their discoveries and their struggles to survive in an age of colonial imperialism and holocaust, instead of the conquests of barbarians like Columbus. To honor these people and remember those who suffered and died due to imperial conquest we should replace Columbus Day with a new federal holiday, National Indigenous People’s Day.
