Change firearm suppressors from a class 3 weapon to an AOW requiring a $5 stamp instead of the current $200 NFA stamp.

Created by C.L. on November 17, 2012

Firearm suppressors do nothing to enhance the lethality of the firearm it's attached to. Since the 1930's suppressors have been a class3 firearm, yet the are unable to fire a round of ammunition by themselves. The only role of a suppressor is to drop the audible noise of a firearm to a safe hearing level, this doesn't mean quiet by any means. The supersonic crack of a bullet as it breaks the sound barrier is still quite audible as is the action of the firearm cycling a new round into the chamber. They are safety devices that protect your hearing and make shooting more enjoyable so if we must regulate them I propose the be classified as an AOW (any other weapon)
