Have FAFSA "independent" aged lowered or allow students to file for independent status.
As a twenty year old student my parents don't pay for any of my schooling nor do they have the means to do so. Schools usually ask for additional parent information, such as proof of their income, signatures, etc. As a student who doesn't live and isn't close to her parents I find it hard to accurately give this information out.
I know I can not be the only one who has problems getting FAFSA due to the "dependent" status FAFSA give all students until they are 25, married, in the selective services, or has a child. Please help change FAFSA.
