Change the Foster Care Age for Longer Eligibility

The Foster Youth Independence Act of 2015 was introduced to Congress to assist foster care children by increasing the eligibility age of services from 21 to 23. We petition Congress to pass this bill into law. Foster youth will use these services to successfully transition into adulthood. The state benefits in that it will have flexibility in its budgeting of the program. This is a crucial period in the lives of these children and this bill is a step in the right direction for foster children to have the opportunity to become successful and productive adults.
