Change the Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) program to require companies to notify the FDA

The FDA allows companies to call food additives "Generally Recognized as Safe" without notifying the FDA. This allows the companies to essentially put chemicals into food without researching the safety without the FDA knowing. The companies should be required to submit information to the FDA about their determinations for the FDA to check to make sure the chemicals are actually Generally Recognized as Safe, or just regular food additives.
