Change the governmental use of Social Media to inform citizens rather than promote advertisement for elections.

I am completely for the governmental use of social media by government officials. I see the importance and convenience of applications such as Facebook and Twitter. Based on my observation many government officials use these sites to promote themselves especially during elections to gain voters. I believe social media should be used by these officials to inform citizens of what is happening in their government at a specific time, rather than promoting themselves to certain positions for election.
