By allowing Congress to determine their salary, they are effectively controlling their destiny. I strongly feel that they have lost a strong connection to why they are in an elected position and have continued to make selfish decision in regards to the salvation of our economy. By taking away the ability for them to mandate their own salary and put it in the People's hands, it will make Congress more accountable for their actions.
