CHANGE HOW MEDIA PORTRAYS VIOLENCE IN THE NEWS AND ENTERTAINMENT. (Gun Control is not enough)

Created by S.M. on December 16, 2012

The Sandy Hook Disaster is symptomatic of a change in how we deal with violence in the media. Gun control alone will not stifle the violent acts.

If my theory holds, we will see an additional uptick in massacres as the children between 6 and 12 today come of age, specifically perpetrated by the most innocent of children--those with borderline personalities (Schizophrenia, Aspergers, depression, etc.).

The Sandy Hook shooter has been a sideline witness to the 24-hour media cycle beginning with Columbine at age 6, 9/11 at age 9, and Virginia Tech at age 14.

I petition that graphic images of violence be relegated to late night hours, both in news and entertainment; and that video games depicting graphic violence from 1st person perspective be restricted as other adult activities.
