We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Change the Humane Slaughter Act to Include Chickens and Other Poultry

Created by R.D. on October 30, 2016

Chickens and other poultry, such as turkeys, ducks, and quail, do not have protection under the Humane Slaughter Act. While it is our desire that people will see and experience the health benefits of a vegetarian or vegan diet, we know that there are those who still wish to consume meat. Even so, poultry deserves to be treated kindly by the food industry. The current Act does not include poultry, and this needs to change now. There is absolutely NO valid reason why chickens and other birds should not be included in the Act, protected from cruelty, pain, and suffering. The government CAN change this very easily and quickly, giving birds the same protections that cows, pigs, and other livestock receive. Please help ALL animals receive the protections they deserve.
