change the ID number on Medicare cards from Social Security number to a random number due to rampant identity theft,

Created by K.S. on March 11, 2015

Currently Medicare ID numbers are Social Security numbers which lead to identity theft. We are warned to never carry our SS numbers with us but that number appears on every Medicare card, therefore, making it quite easy for identity theft. Many years ago Blue Cross did away with that practice due to identity theft. Why can't our government protect seniors by doing the same?
