The income guide lines for receiving state or federal assistance are a big joke to those of us who work and need a little more help. I would like to see is a change from going by what your gross pay is for determination to using the net pay for determination. Many Americans understand you just can't pay the bills with what they take out of your paycheck in taxes. So just changing that one piece would allow people who work to be able to receive assistance. Most Americans who have a job and need a little help are not looking to stop working and live on assistance. Myself and many Americans like me are simply looking for a HAND UP not a hand out.
