(For background on this issue, please watch The Invisible War, available on Netflix)
Women in the military have insufficient recourse when raped. They rely on people who are not legally trained to "investigate" their claims and pass judgement. The vast majority of these cases end with no action taken. Those that do mostly result in only administrative punishmentr. This leaves military women vulnerable to repeat offenders. They can be punished for saying anything, and the process has been referred to as worse than the rape itself. This is a betrayal of these American military members, and women in general.
The solution has been more "training" specific to the actions of all but the rapist. Please change the jurisdiction of rape cases to civil authority and protect military women.
