Since 1975, Laos has been under the control of a single-party communist regime. Prior to the control, Laos was established under a monarchy.
Laos has human rights concerns with their own citizens and the Hmong people. Examples of limiting human rights are restrictions on freedom of expression, and targeted genocide of the Hmong.
As one of the five remaining communist states in the world (behind China, Vietnam, Cuba, and North Korea), the people under this government are suffering under communist control. With the help of the US Government, we can remove Laos under that control and move towards a democratic government where the people will prosper under economical and social growth.
