The Chinese Exclusion Act. Black men dating white women. McCarthyism. Calls for HIV/AIDS quarantine camps. Japanese internment camps. Ebola. And of course, immigrants.
Americans do not deserve to end our national anthem with the words "home of the brave". We are a nation of cowards, and consistently rely on military might overseas and general domestic ignorance to allow our cowardice to flourish at home.
Thus, I request the executive and legislative branches pass legislation changing the end of the last line of the Star Spangled Banner to "...home of the field mice."
