United States law enforcement is increasingly involved in acts of gross neglect, violence or abuse of powers. Increasing US Law Enforcement departments and officials end up sued and have to reimburse massive fines to the victims of these crimes. In most cases cops walk away scott free as unions, corporate sponsors or police departments pay the bills. That means that in most cases tax payers end up paying the bill for a few rotten apples.
I ask President Obama to sponsor a bill that sets a minimum personal accountability of 50% of any damages paid to a victim of police violence. In other words - if a court holds a cop to be guilty of using excessive force and awards the victim 10 million dollars in damages, the responsible cop(s) end up paying at the very least half of than ten million.
