Change the law on Post 9/11 GI Bill transferability for military retirees.

Created by J.G. on April 29, 2014

Request that the law against transferring military post 9/11 GI Bill education benefits to family members be changed to allow transfer of benefits after retirement. The Post-9/11 GI Bill is a Service member benefit that if earned should not be denied because a service member retires from service. The ability to transfer unused benefits was created as a recruitment and retention incentive for further service. That benefit is limited so that after retirement from military service members cannot transfer their benefits to family members. Please change the law so that retirees with remaining benefits can transfer them to their spouse or dependents.
