Employers get away with basically premeditated murder when there has been a state of emergency issued for a State and still tell it's employees that they must come to work. The state of South Carolina found it appropriate to issue a state of emergency due to the rains we had approaching us and yet me and the rest of the state's labor force were required to report to work. When I finally got off I was driving in the middle of mass flooding throughout my state and my normal commute homw which normally takes 15 minutes was prolonged to two and a half hours. Numerous roads were flooded amongst falling completely apart due the massive amounts of rain, our lives were ultimately put in jeopardy. Employees should be allowed to stay home during state of emergencies without losing our jobs.
