Change the laws for USDA Food Stamp Coverage to dis-include items that are not nutritious.

Created by R.J. on January 05, 2013

As you all know we are in an economic crisis in our great nation. Every bit of unnecessary spending must be cut. I work in a retail pharmacy and we sell food items as well. Now I know for a fact people come in on food stamps and buy Candy, energy drinks and other items that are not essential to basic nutrition. That is not what the program was set up for. This happens all the time in grocery stores and it is wasteful spending. The federal government should suspend funding to any state for food stamps that does not take steps to ensure this doesn't happen. It is in fact an easy fix to make retailers code items as FS eligible and that shouldnt include junk food, soda pop, candy, etc.I am all for helping the poor buy bread cheese milk and other good items but not snickers and twinkies.
