This is a debate that has come up many times before, and will continue to be brought up, undoubtedly, many times after this. The most common of the arguments posed for the lowering of the drinking age revolve around how it may curb the “rebellious teen angst” that leads to much “binge drinking” Another common argument is that at eighteen many young adults are accepted into the armed forces, and that if one is allowed to put their life on the line they should be allowed to join in the large part of American, and world, culture, that is alcoholic beverages. Now then, another point that I would like to make myself is that by dropping the legal age of drinking the prevalence of drugs should also drop, which can lead to far more destructive effects, and there is overall less understanding of.
