Change the Marriage Penalty for Disabled Married Couples on Supplement Security Income.

Created by M.T. on August 08, 2014

There is a law that needs to be changed when it comes to penalizing Married Disabled couples that get Supplement Security Income.
They take away money if you are married. Thinking you can live off of less, when the facts are we are spending more money as a married couple than we would than being single. Our Food costs more, Our electric/ Air/ Heat bills change because of more use. Our co pays cost more for 2 people to see the DR, Our co pays for medicine cost more for 2 people. Our food stamps go down, Our rent goes up if we live in housing. More cost for transportation the list goes on.
Food costs are going up, everything is going up but yet it would be better to live together and never marry and save us 400 dollars, get more food etc etc. We want what we deserve. EQUAL TREATMENT!
