WHEREAS, Jose Abreu set major league rookie records for most home runs and RBI in April; and
WHEREAS, his .617 slugging percentage and 19 extra-base hits were the best for the month of April in the year 2014 in the American League; and
WHEREAS, he was the first player ever with four games of at least four RBI in the first 26 games of his career; and
WHEREAS, on April 25 he had six RBI and hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth with 2 out to win the game; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved the month of April hereby be changed to Abreu.
