Change the Name of Mt. Rainier to Mt. Tahoma

Created by G.M. on September 02, 2015

This grand mountain, the third tallest in the United States, was named "Tahoma" or "Tacoma" for millennial. British explorer George Vancouver named it Mount Rainier in 1792 after a friend and fellow British naval officer who fought sea battles against the Americans.

"Tahoma" means "the snowy mountain." It is time to honor the heritage of our first people, and restore the name.
