There has never been an athlete or celebrity that has meant more to one city than Stan Musial has to St. Louis. Aside from being one of the 10 best Major League Baseball players of all time, "The Man" is one of the nicest people the world has ever seen. After his playing days, Stan became a good will ambassador for and has become synonymous with the city of St. Louis. There are efforts underway to name a bridge, the stadium and the playing field after Musial. None of these seem adequate enough.
