Since Ohio lawmakers are upset about the recent un-re-naming of Denali, and the name “McKinley” carries so much meaning for them, this move would resolve both issues in one step.
Citizens of Alaska can continue to call their mountain what they have always called it, and soon-to-be ex-“Ohioans” can rid themselves of the pesky Iroquois name that somehow stuck to their state, and replace it with a name they can feel proud of, “McKinley.”
