Our national anthem was written in 1814 by an amateur poet who was born on a plantation. But America has long since transcended it's colonial beginnings. Our anthem no longer represents the American people.
I propose we change our National Anthem to be "I Am a God" by the American lyricist Kanye West.
Also, ours (and many other countries') national anthems just sound too British. What's with that? We need to lead the world in rejecting the last holdout traces of British imperialism.
It doesn't have to be "I Am a God". Many other songs would do, perhaps George Thorogood's "Get a Haircut" would be good as well.
