Change the national anthem from the "Star Spangled Banner" to "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood.

Created by R.L. on July 05, 2015

Our current national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner", is not appropriate for our country. It is very difficult to sing, glorifies war, and is actually an altered version of an English drinking song that Francis Scott Key changed the words to. I am proposing that we instead adopt "God Bless the USA", a 1984 song by American country artist Lee Greenwood, as our new national anthem. It is original, easy to sing, and does not glorify war but instead praises our country's service members and their sacrifices for our continuing freedom. It also became the de-facto rally song of our country after the 9/11 attacks. It is time to have a national anthem that is more representative of who we are as a nation, and "God Bless the USA" is that song.
