“The Star Spangled Banner” is an anthem composed during the War of 1812, when our chief enemies were the British, blacks were enslaved by whites, no one knew of the internet, people traveled in Conestoga wagons, and women could not vote. Obviously, times have changed, but unfortunately our national anthem remains the same, an aging relic in a modern world. We must remedy this situation.
Thus, we must be change the national anthem from Francis Scott Key’s “The Star Spangled Banner” to Jim Jones’ “We Fly High”.
“We Fly High” will be performed at any location where the playing of “The Star Spangled Banner” would be appropriate.
It is appropriate and encouraged for all involved to imitate taking a jump shot whenever the word “Ballin” is heard as a show of American solidarity.
