The National Handicap symbol of a person in a wheelchair, has conditioned a major portion of our society to believe that handicap only means wheelchair bound or visibly disabled. Some people that have lawfully gained a handicap parking permit, when accessing these spaces experience extreme discrimination or harassment. Individuals that "look fine", do not have a missing limb/s, wheelchair, crutches, etc. sadly are being heckled by people who think they are not handicapped. Heart conditions, epilepsy, auto immune diseases, neurological, nervous system, mental, muscle disorders and more can limit a person's ability of movement, sense or normal activities. Handicap/Disabled image shouldn't be represented solely by a wheelchair. Change the symbol and start awareness..let's stop the ignorance.
