The first amendment of the US Constitution clearly states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." The motto "In God we Trust" was first created to show difference from the USSR during the Cold War, and now that Cold War tensions are over, and society has progressed as a whole, we the people believe it is time to change the national motto to something more fitting- E Pluribus Unum (or, Out of many, one).
