The shot clock for men's collegiate basketball is far too long and slows the game down considerably. This is not how basketball should be played. The shot clock for professional basketball is set at 24 seconds and therefore the 35 second shot clock does not adequately prepare the student athlete for their professional career.
Currently the NCAA uses a 30 second shot clock for Women's basketball which demonstrates that they have the capability of making this change. It would be fundamentally demeaning to the sport to allow this travesty to continue.
