Change the number of signatures required on a petition to get a government response from 100,000 to 30,000

Created by H.H. on March 09, 2013

The required amount of signatures on a petition to get a response used to be just 25,000. Then some people decided to turn a serious way to call issues to the government's attention into a Star Wars fandom joke, and now the required number is 100,000.

Very few petitions will reach 100,000 signatures in just 30 days, and these petitions deal with pressing issues that we want dealt with. So we ask the White House to bring the number down to 30,000.
