CHANGE ONE CRITERIA THAT THE VA ADMIN HAS IMPLEMENTED THAT IS HOLDING BACK VETERANS FROM RECEIVING HOME CARE

Created by R.W. on June 08, 2014

One of the VA Administrations criteria in order for our veterans to receive home care is for them to physically give themselves a bath. Many do not need that help or are personally modest in receiving that help. Because of this, their home care benefit has been cut off! Many have cognitive impairments of which they need reminders to take their medicine. Others have catheter bags that need to be replaced each week, some are wheelchair bound and cannot prepare their own meals. The list goes on with home care needs that a caregiver can provide for them that they can't do on their own. Their health is at risk now by not getting the help they need. These Vets risked their lives for us and now that they need help, the government has turned them away! Please remove this bathing criteria and help!
