Change the organ transplant law to permit regulated organ sales. Increasing the supply will save 10,000 lives yearly.

The Federal Organ Transplant Law enacted in 1984 provides that only donated organs may be used.
The shortage of organs is taking the lives of almost 10,000 people unnecessarily each year. Donation is good. It is the highest altruistic step that a person can contemplate.
But if someone is unwilling to donate their organs, for whatever reason, they should have an option to sign a contract providing that upon their death, their organs could be sold at that day's market rate. Their estate, children, and/or designated charity would receive the proceeds. A detailed plan to increase the supply of organs for transplant was developed by David F.
