Our current simple majority voting system is flawed. We the people feel less engaged and increasingly detached from the conversation. Our voting system needs reform so our votes can matter.
The Alternative Vote allows voters to choose a 1-3 series of candidates for a position in order of preference. This way, even if your 1st choice loses, most likely your 2nd or 3rd vote will count towards the winner. This allows for 3rd party candidates to flourish, engages citizens more actively and prevents defensive voting.
