Change the party affiliation deadline in NY so that voters can decide who they want to vote for after debates begin.

Created by C.S. on March 23, 2016

The October 9th deadline to change party affiliation occurred before the debates even started. Many individuals are unable to vote in the primary for the candidate they want because they are registered as Independent or for the opposing party. It is unreasonable to uphold this early deadline and makes it impossible for citizens to change their mind about primary candidates. A closed primary with this kind of deadline alienates a US citizens right to participate in elections and choose who represents them.
