Please change patent law so that life can not be owned. Currently, companies like Monsanto are able to patent genes used in the agriculture system and are using this as a platform to terrorize farmers into using their product. The general rules of nature are ignored (such as pollination by wind, insects that could create field contamination...) and farmers are being forced into bankruptcy or into the monoculture system. This is a safety issue for all Americans, as 70-80% of the food sources in the US are owned by 3-4 major corporations.
