Change the pay of all public appointed officials to an annual salary equal to the current average income for the U.S.

Created by M.J. on November 13, 2012

We the people of the United States of America request the following changes in regards to the publicly elected officials. Effective immediately, elected officials will be paid a maximum of the current average family household income. This currently is estimated at $50,054 per year. Officials are eligible for performance based pay increases annually if job duties are performed during the entire year. We additionally require a term limit placed on all elected officials. Currently, the President is allow to serve two terms. We are requiring this same rule to all officials to prevent career politicians and to give all citizens equal opportunity to hold office. Salaries will be given during times of service only. Pensions and/or retirement benefits/pay will no longer be given.
